When Traditional Therapy Is Not Enough: Intensive Trauma Treatment For Children

At Carbajal Kids, we provide trauma-focused treatment for children who need more than traditional weekly outpatient therapy. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is specifically designed for children experiencing significant trauma-related symptoms, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral challenges that are not improving with standard care. Through developmentally appropriate, evidence-based approaches—including play therapy, family therapy, and trauma-informed interventions—we help children process traumatic experiences, build regulation skills, and restore stability within the family system. In partnership with the Utah Office for Victims of Crime, we are able to support eligible children in accessing this higher level of care, ensuring that those impacted by crime receive timely, specialized treatment that meets the intensity of their needs.
